Kansas City Tree Care, LLC is a family-owned tree service company serving the Kansas City metro on both sides of the state line. Our owner, Zach Johnson, has worked in the tree care trade since 1990 and founded Kansas City Tree Care in 2011. We are ISA-certified, fully licensed in Missouri and Kansas, and insured on every job.
Our Owner
Zach Johnson has spent his career in tree care, starting in the trade in 1990 and building the kind of hands-on knowledge you can only get from decades of real work. In 2011 he started Kansas City Tree Care, LLC to serve the KC metro on his own terms: honest estimates, reliable crews, and work done right the first time. He lives in the Kansas City area and his crews are on the road across the metro week after week. When you call, you are dealing with a local business, not a franchise or a call center.
Our Credentials
Kansas City Tree Care holds ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) certification, which requires demonstrated knowledge of tree biology, diagnosis, pruning standards, and safe work practices. We are licensed tree care contractors in both Missouri and Kansas and carry commercial general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage on every job. You are welcome to ask for proof of insurance before any work begins.
How We Work
We show up on time, walk the job with you, and give you a written estimate before any work starts. Our crews use proper rigging and equipment for work near structures, remove debris, and grind stumps flush to grade on every removal. We do not leave a mess. We will not recommend work your trees do not need, and if a tree is healthy and safe, we will tell you so.
For every job we carry the right equipment – from hand tools and pole saws for light pruning to bucket trucks and cranes for large removals. We pick the right approach for your specific tree and lot, not the fastest one.

We serve the full Kansas City metro including Overland Park, Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood, Prairie Village, Mission, Fairway, and Roeland Park in Kansas, and Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Liberty, Independence, Grandview, Belton, and Raytown in Missouri.
